Ian O’Cain

AIA
Senior Associate | Director of Operations

Ian joined EskewDumezRipple in 2013 after graduating from Tulane University, where he was named the School of Architecture’s Public Service Fellow.

Since then, Ian has become an integral leader within the studio’s Learning Environments team, serving as Project Manager for the Our Lady of the Lake Interdisciplinary Sciences Building at LSU and as Project Architect on projects including the River and Lake Residence Halls at Tulane University, the Dalney Building at Georgia Tech, and Comeaux High School's Performing Arts Building.

In 2021, Ian was named the firm’s Director of Technology, where he led studio-wide efforts to integrate next-generation tools into design and delivery. From virtual reality and computational workflows to drone scanning and emerging digital platforms, his work helped embed technology as a strategic driver of design quality, efficiency, and collaboration across the firm.

Building on this leadership, Ian was named a Senior Associate and, in 2026, Director of Operations. In this role, he oversees the firm’s operational systems and workflows, bringing together technology, process, and people to support effective collaboration across studios. As Director of Operations, Ian continues to advance EskewDumezRipple’s culture of innovation, aligning the firm’s tools and infrastructure in service of design excellence and long-term practice growth.
