The EskewDumezRipple Research Fellowship enables talented individuals to explore fundamental questions around the development of better buildings while embedded in a firm committed to excellence in design and performance. They are challenged to focus on a particular area of inquiry, unconstrained by day-to-day project deliverables, but with the opportunity to interact with and affect the course of ongoing work. All of their research has the distinct power to affect, not only our processes, but the way in which we learn and grow as a firm.

This year’s Fellowship explores the intersection of architecture, equity, and community through the lens of affordable housing. As the cost of housing continues to rise—particularly for those with the least wealth—our Fellows are investigating how thoughtful design can support inclusive, connected, and nourishing communities. With a focus on those most affected by housing insecurity, they will examine how architects can use the tools of design and advocacy to help make beautiful, community-oriented housing more accessible.
This year’s Fellows will collaborate with outside experts and our internal Affordable Housing Champions group to test ideas, identify priorities, and contribute to real projects across our studios. This year's Fellows are Katie Nguyen and Caroline Garfield.

Our WELL Certification Guide documents the design, operational, and cultural strategies behind our New Orleans studio’s achievement of WELL Platinum Certification—the first project in Louisiana to reach this level. More than a case study, the guide serves as a transparent, evidence-based resource that translates health and wellness goals into measurable outcomes, from air quality and daylight to comfort, equity, and long-term stewardship. It reflects how we use rigorous frameworks to test ideas, track performance, and apply lessons learned, both within our own workplace and across the projects we deliver for clients.

Technology has fundamentally transformed our world. It is the most profound change to permeate the profession of architecture and design in the last 70 years.
