A current resident of the Faubourg Marigny, Tom Gibbons returns to New Orleans after spending a portion of his summer internship working with the Make It Right Foundation in 2009 and interning in the Eskew+Dumez+Ripple studio in the spring of 2013.
A graduate of The George Washington University, Tom spent the early portion of his career working in the private sector developing geographic information systems (GIS) for clients including the US Postal Service, US Forest Service, The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and The Federal Communications Commission; before returning to Yale University for his Master’s degree in Environmental Management in 2010 and the University of Virginia for his Master’s degree in Architecture in 2013.
With backgrounds in geography, ecology and architecture, Tom has always been an advocate for sustainability and mitigating climate change. He has a keen interest in the history of urban settings, their development and the challenges and opportunities presented by the geographical characteristics that shape them.
