Sarah Rivard

AIA
Architect

Sarah joined our Washington, DC office shortly after graduating with her Master of Architecture from the University of Virginia. Originally growing up in the Boston area, she moved to New Orleans to study at Tulane University. After graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture, she returned to Boston to work for Annum (formerly Ann Beha Architects), a firm specializing in historic building renovation and expansion. In her work, Sarah aspires to create places that bring people together, reflect the cultural values of communities, and blend technical knowledge with artistic expression. She loves adaptive reuse and historic building renovation projects for their unique challenges, opportunities, and ties to the history of a place.

Sarah is passionate about travel, art, music, environmentalism, and the ocean. Her graduate thesis on designing for microplastic fiber decontamination in the deep sea won the Jonathan King Student Medal for Excellence in Architectural + Environmental Research. In her free time, you can find her at the beach or exploring the great museums, music, and art that DC has to offer.
