Manager of Design Technology | Architect
Ryland joins the firm as the new Manager of Digital Technology. After graduating from the University of Southern California, Ryland previously followed his architectural passion to Shanghai, China, where for five years he led the transition from traditional CAD to BIM design, as well as providing technical design tool support, to more than 800 staff working on the design of 127M square feet of building across Gensler’s Asia Pacific region.
Passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology to expand the limits of what’s possible in design, Ryland leads the studio’s ongoing implementation of cutting-edge tools integrated into architectural practice.
Outside of the office, you can find him working on an N-scale model railroad layout built on top of an off-the-shelf hollow core door panel (20 years in the making), running (he’s completed three marathons), or traveling, once spending seven days traveling across Russia and Mongolia to China on the Trans-Siberian Express.
