How do you solve an equation with nothing but variables?
One of the many challenges facing the US Army Corps of Engineers is coastal damage caused by waves, wind and surge. Hurricanes have significantly increased the vulnerability of coastal areas to natural disasters. The Corps aims to reduce these coastal risks and “improve resilience to these hazards through an integrated approach that draws from the full array of coastal risk reduction measures.”
Orpheum Theater, SPCA Win at AIA New Orleans 2016 Design Awards

Two Eskew+Dumez+Ripple projects won awards at last night’s 2016 Design Awards. SPCA Animal Rescue and Care Center won Honorable Mention and the Orpheum Theater won the Honor Award. We’re very excited about these acknowledgements, and proud of our team for all of their hard work on these beautiful spaces.
Fogo De Chao Opens on New Orleans’ Canal Street

Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse, the Dallas-based restaurant with 26 locations in 16 states, is open for business after five months of extensive interior and exterior renovations. Guests will experience the popular Brazilian style of service called Rodizio, in which waiters go from table to table offering slices of spit-roasted meats.

Giving back to the community. It’s one of Eskew+Dumez+Ripple’s core values. In time for the annual MLK Day of Service, Architectural Record highlights our firm’s approach to pro bono work. Created by the firm in the spirit of the 1+ initiative by Public Architecture, the program unites a firm-wide day of service with our research fellowship initiative utilizing the staff’s diverse skills to provide design services to the larger New Orleans community.
Two Projects Receive Regional ENR Best Projects Awards

The ENR Regional Best Projects Awards program is dedicated to honoring the best construction projects and the companies that designed and built them in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Projects compete in 20 specialized categories, ranging from airports to sports/entertainment. This year, two projects designed by Eskew+Dumez+Ripple were selected by ENR Texas & Louisiana.
Designing from Caracas to New Orleans with Jose Alvarez

A native of Caracas, Venezuela, José Alvarez, AIA, is a Principal at Eskew+Dumez+Ripple. A talented designer and Project Architect with the design responsibility for many of the studio’s largest projects, his creative work has led to dozens of design awards for projects.
