The George & Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center

This project includes the renovation and expansion of an existing 10,000 square foot historic funeral home on New Orleans’ historic Rampart Street corridor. The facility is currently in the design process to accommodate a new center for music education and performance in addition to expanded community outreach for the non-profit. The performance space is a flat floor design that will accommodate up to 200 people depending on the seating configuration. The design will incorporate state-of-the-art A/V technologies and well-designed acoustical strategies in order to allow the center to have minimal impact on the surrounding neighborhood.

The project includes the utilization of Historic Tax Credits and lies within the Treme HDLC District, thus creating several limitations on the size of this expansion.
