This new restaurant on the ground floor of the Eskew+Dumez+Ripple-designed 930 Poydras Residential Tower was named after the shipping & warehousing neighborhood that was once active on upper Poydras Street in the 1800’s. As a result of this industrial heritage, the interior of the 3,500 square foot space features banquette seating & white linens set against rough wood palette features and exposed concrete columns. The walls of the restaurant showcase a handpainted mural of a Sanborn map of New Orleans from the Ste. Marie period.
From an urban design perspective, Ste. Marie is the next step in creating a more vibrant neighborhood on upper Poydras Street. Other recent additions to the neighborhood include the aforementioned 250-unit 930 Poydras Residential Tower, Reginelli’s Pizza, a grocery store, Champions Square at the Superdome and a multi-million dollar renovation of the existing Hyatt Hotel on Loyola Avenue.Location: New Orleans, LA Map This Location
