In early 2012, the State of Louisiana, in a team complex ownership negotiation, committed to a $44 Million improvements package to the New Orleans Arena. The longtime home of the New Orleans hornets, the package entails the creation of new revenue opportunities within the venue so that the State might finally be rid of its obligatory annual subsidies.
After having led a similar program at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome between 2009 and 2011, the Eskew+Dumez+Ripple/AECOM, Joint Venture team was selected to design and execute this scope of work with just a 5 month window allotted for complete design services. Designed with multiple, complex phases of construction in mind, the work will include the addition of further seating in the main bowl, major improvements and additions to the suite level, and the creation of a large, brand new lobby expansion. This large new structural addition will incorporate the addition of new rentable interior and exterior balconies and will create a new pre and post-game event venue for concerts, pep rallies, and player-featured events.Location: New Orleans, LA Map This Location
