This renovation of an existing c.1920 residence in the uptown neighborhood of New Orleans entailed a complete interior reconfiguration of the existing a 2,200 square foot home along with the creation of a new 1,500 square foot addition. The goal was to provide added living space, much-needed storage, and additional bedrooms and baths for the couple’s growing family.
The ground floor of the house was reconfigured to accommodate a desire for a more open living arrangement. The new addition places two children’s bedrooms upstairs along with a shared bath, playroom/den, and laundry room. The prior four bedroom arrangement downstairs was renovated to provide three rooms (master bedroom, guest bedroom and study) along with a large master closet and “wet room,” with a sliding glass door that opens to a contiguous backyard pool. The custom tub, constructed of white quartz slabs, is sunken into the floor while the pool is partially raised out of the ground to place it at the same elevation of the finished floor of the home and to create a unique indoor/outdoor experience.Location: New Orleans LA Map This Location
