Sustainability EnablerOpening: Jun. 01, 2017 / Closing: OPEN
Eskew+Dumez+Ripple, a New Orleans-based architectural practice, winner of the 2014 AIA Firm Award, and signatory to the AIA 2030 Commitment, seeks a truly extraordinary individual to work with our project teams to enable them to produce buildings that promote human health and positive environmental impact.
Applicants are expected to be trained in architecture or engineering and have demonstrated experience in the use of technical analysis to support sustainable design, including experience with daylight simulation (with tools such as Radiance, DIVA, Licaso), energy modeling (Insight360, EnergyPlus, ArchSim, eQuest, or at least Sefaira), climate analysis (Ladybug/Honeybee), Life cycle materials assessment (Tally, Athena), building assembly thermal and moisture analysis (WUFI), and rainwater capture and stormwater management. They should understand and be able to explain typical building mechanical (HVAC) systems. Applicants should be comfortable in Revit, Rhino, or both, and be able to show through their portfolio that they can communicate complex technical results through compelling graphics. The work will involve participation in all project phases, from pre-design charrettes to post-occupancy performance measurements and occupant engagement. The position requires an unusual mix of technical and people skills. We are looking for someone who can think like a designer, master new tools quickly, communicate graphically, listen well, and write clearly. We want someone clever, funny, and fearless.
Applicants are expected to have a degree in the field of design & construction (architecture, mechanical engineering), LEED or WELL Building accreditation, or experience with Living Building Challenge, Enterprise Green Communities, or PassiveHouse certification is a strong plus. Those who bring 3-5 years experience will be preferred, but those with a shorter track record of accomplishment will be considered.
We offer competitive salary and benefits, and life in one of the most interesting cities in the world.
